Partner Juggling Assessment
Purpose of Activity:
Peer skill assessment at the end of the unit to check for understanding of critical elements when juggling using the cascade pattern.
Suggested Grade Level:
Description of Idea
Students will review the critical elements of juggling with their partner and observe their partner’s performance in reference to the critical elements, checking off one criteria at a time by using a written assessment sheet. Using the reciprocal teaching style in conjunction with a written assessment will deepen the understanding of juggling skills, and at the same time engage the students in quality practice.
While the students are engaged in the assessment, the teacher will be able to provide individual feedback or assess students’ performance according to the scoring rubric.
